🎨 The Story

This collaboration between photographer Corey Atkinson and Aboriginal artist Simone Atkinson captures the true essence of Liyan— the Yawuru concept of spiritual wellbeing and the deep, felt connection between person, place, and ancestor. As the drone’s lens meets the ancient pindan cliffs of Gantheaume Point, the physical world dissolves into Simone’s intricate dot work, illustrating how our inner health is mirrored in the rhythmic pulse of the turquoise tides. The striking contrast of the red earth meeting the swirling patterns of the sea tells a story of balance and resilience, reminding us that true well-being is found when we align our own spirit with the enduring songlines of the Country.
